DTLA: Redbird x CA Olive Ranch

I got a chance to finally try Redbird in DTLA. They hosted a dinner in collaboration with California Olive Ranch where Chef Neal Fraser did cooking demos and featured entrees highlighting the olive oil. The night started with small bites & cocktails and ended with a four course meal that had me craving olive oil.

Founded in 1998, we were the first company to take American olive oil to a whole new level. While olives have grown in California for hundreds of years, we’ve pioneered new ways of cultivating and harvesting olives in order to make our extra virgin olive oil premium and affordable.

Colorado Ribeye with pee wee potatoes and the best romesco sauce ever. Guests got to take home a bottle of their very own olive oil. I'm excited to cook with it!

SILVERLAKE: A Matcha Lover's Heaven

I recently stopped by Silverlake's newest addition, MatchaBar. Hailing from New York, this little spot features matcha everything. My favorite was for sure the Harmless Latte which features coconut water & ceremonial grade matcha. Heaven in a cup.

Dress from Zara; Belt from Luv Aj; Shoes from Nightwalker; Jacket from NEUW Denim

The line can get long but it's worth it if you're a matcha queen.

OUTFIT DIARIES: Puerto Vallarta

Sunny skies, warm beaches, towering palms. Puerto Vallarta was the best intro to Spring I could have asked for.

I have never unpacked my suitcase when I travel. I have always had this weird paranoia that when I pack up, I'll somehow forget something. This was the first time I tried unpacking and it was pretty life changing. I could actually see all my options and easily get dressed!

Beyond that, none of my clothes were smushed in my suitcase and wrinkled by the time I wanted to wear them.

Here are some of the outfits I put together while on my trip.

Sweater & Leggings c/o Abercrombie; Headphones c/o Sudio (use code THEDAILYJENNY for $$ off); Sneakers from Nike

These Sudio headphones are amazing. They really cancel out all the noise around you. This is ideal for when you're traveling and someone shows up with a crying baby. These headphones make a world of difference for your sanity. Also - can we talk about how amazing and comfortable Abercrombie hoodies + leggings are? Their lounge wear is so cute and is perfect for effortless airport style.

Dress c/o 2020AVE; Sunnies c/o ZeroUV; Shoes from Joie

I wore this dress + espadrilles combo on my first night out in Puerto Vallarta and was obsessed with how simple and chic it was. It's a halter dress and hits as a midi (at least on me). Paired with neutral toned espadrilles and bag and it made for the perfect stroll outfit.

Bikini Top & Bottom c/o SwimCandy; Sunnies c/o ZeroUV

One of our favorite things to do was go for morning dips by the (very many) pools. I loved this grey swimsuit paired with flat pink mirrored shades.

Top c/o 2020AVE (more here); Skirt (similar) from Free People; Sandals c/o Abercrombie; Sunnies c/o 2020AVE; Choker from Natalie B Jewelry

I love the combo of an off the shoulder top and a choker. This really highlights your chest without looking too over the top. I paired it with a simple skirt, tucked in, and gold leather sandals. Can't forget your favorite cat eye sunnies to tie it all together.

Swimsuit & Jeans c/o Abercrombie; Hat (similar) from Reformation

One of my best travel tips for packing less and getting the most of your pieces is to find at least two ways to wear each thing you bring along. For instance, I'm in LOVE with monokinis/one pieces because they always make great tops/bodysuits. This black lace up one from Abercrombie is so comfortable and looked cute both ways!

Dress from Chan Luu; Sunnies c/o ZeroUV; Bikini Top & Bottom from Mikoh c/o Bikini.com

Enjoyed a Mexican breakfast before boarding a boat to visit the Marietas Islands. Loved this sheer sequined dress to throw over my bikini. The cream + grey tones made for the perfect monochromatic palette. Also - this bikini is currently 30% off on Bikini.com!

Swimsuit from Pacsun; Jeans c/o Abercrombie; Hat (similar) from Reformation

Back at it with the swimsuit doubling as a top. I typically gravitate towards black swimwear but this pink floral piece just looked too cute to pass up. Paired with my light wash distressed denim and straw hat, it made for the perfect last day ensemble.

Can't wait to share more of my outfit diaries!

RECIPE: Coconut Blueberry Spritzer

This is my second recipe that I've had the good fortune of developing with Zevia. Lesser known fact, I'm not a big drinker. I almost always opt for some kind of virgin spritzer or Shirley Temple. In this recipe, I combing my favorite coconut water with Zevia's Zero Calorie Lemon Lime Twist. Keep reading for the full recipe!

Coconut Blueberry Spritzer (serves 2)

Ingredients:

2 cups coconut water

1/2 can of Zevia Lemon Lime Twist

.5 oz agave sweetener

Chopped mint leaves

12-14 blueberries

Crushed ice

1. Lightly muddle mint leaves & 4-5 blueberries.

2. Add simple agave, coconut water & Zevia Lemon Lime Twist.

3. Stir well & add ice.

4. Garnish with blueberries.

This drink is super easy to make and is very healthy. If you prefer your drinks lighter on the sweet side, you can skip the agave all together. This would be perfect for a summer get together or bbq. Let me know if you decide to remake it!
